Athlete’s Edge prides itself on being an industry leader in the education space for patients, athletes and health professionals/coaches. Over the past few months, we have delivered three educational events, and a number of online webinars and workshops in the early past of 2026. In particular, our Melbourne Marathon event, our initial health professional event, and running technique webinar have been particular highlights. See below for highlights, video snippets and links to upcoming events. Why is patient and athlete education important?

High quality, evidence-informed training and recovery also involves developing a comprehensive and knowledge-base around your injury or goals. World class rehabilitation and performance optimisation starts with developing and detailed understanding, and empowering the athlete or individual to take ownership of their own goals and outcomes. Education is a key component of this process, and at Athletes Edge Physiotherapy, we are proud to deliver an industry leading patient and athlete educational program,

Highlights from recent Educational Events

Melbourne Marathon Event:

We ran a successful event in the lead up to Melbourne Marathon 2026, diving into everything about taper, race week preparation, fueling, course changes, race plans, recovery and more! We were joined by experienced run coach and Athlete’s Edge sponsored athlete, Forest Robinson, who shared coaches insights and an athlete perspective, while our own Melbourne Running Physio Ky Wynne discussed all things the ‘science behind recovery and performance’. This was a popular event and is one we will look to continue into 2027 and beyond. Stay tuned to the socials and email updates!

Evolve Run Club Event:

We were delighted to be joined in the clinic by one of Melbourne’s biggest running clubs, Evolve Run Club. This group has a range of runners, from serious/sub-elite, through the recreational and youth runners, and is lead by Dion Finocchiaro. The purpose of this event was to discuss how to maximize performance and injury prevention in endurance runners. The event was hosted and presented by Athlete’s Edge director and Melbourne running physio Ky Wynne.

Health Professional Event:

We strongly believe in Athlete Education, but also in giving back, and upskilling the community of motivated health professionals, coaches and students. We hosted our first health professional event looking at performance testing and the importance of this in patient and athlete management.

Online Workshops & Webinars:

In the first 2 quarters of 2026 we ran a number of online webinars for our Athlete’s Edge and Runner’s Edge communities. In particular, the “Technique for Endurance Running” was a popular event, and we thank all of the attendees from around Australia and over 4 different countries who tuned in. We will look to do further online events in 2027, so stay tuned if interested.
